Alliance Francaise de Melbourne

The Alliance Française de Melbourne is an Australian non-profit association dedicated to the promotion of the French language and culture. Founded in 1890, the Alliance Française de Melbourne is the oldest in Australia (there being 33 Alliances in the Federation) and one of the oldest in the world. It belongs to a world network of 1,400 Alliances Françaises set up in 138 countries. The AFM will be present at the CJC Fete this year. They will be happy to discuss with you the various language courses on offer whether you are a beginner or wanting to maintain the language skills you already have. They have also kindly donated a prize of 20 hours of French lessons, so no excuse for the winner not to "parler en francais" in 2012.

There are always exciting events being held by the AFM. Coming up on Friday 18th November it's Beaujolais Nouveau time. On Saturday 10th - Sunday 11th December, now in its 7th consecutive year is the Alliance Française Christmas Market and Open Day.  A much anticipated annual rendezvous for the St Kilda and Melbourne community at large looking for that special Xmas present, wanting to try out a French class or looking for information on studying in France. The  French language and cultural centre will open the doors from 1pm - 6pm of its prestigious home, Eildon Mansion, to the public for a weekend with a French touch!
