Fairy Floss

The history of fairy floss seems to date back to the 1900's when it was originally known as cotton candy. By 1904 a confectioner by the name of William Morrison had created a machine to spin the sugar, which he introduced to the World Fair and the wide audience it attracted, and called it Fairy Floss. He successfully sold 68,655 boxes at the then very high price of 25 cents (admission to the fair itself was 50 cents).
At the CJC fete, perhaps we won't reach the numbers purchased at the 1904 World Fair but we'll have a good go at it, won't we....
